Snow story - two weeks of arctic weather (4th-15th January 2010)

Monday

On 4th January 2010 Term 3 starts as planned  with a staff training day.

Tuesday

Another staff training day but with a slight difference - during the day it started to snow!

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

We all woke on Wednesday morning to find that there had been lots of overnight snow, and the school had to be closed.  During this time lots of pupils and staff stayed in touch through the school website.  To see more click below.

go to the Snowpage >

Click on the snowman to see all the pictures and messages that were sent in by pupils and staff while the school was closed.

Monday

On 11th January school opens to pupils for their first day of Term 3.  As you can see there is still much snow on the ground and Joe and Lloyd work hard to clear it.  Unfortunately the children had to spend their break times indoors.

Again, overnight lots of snow fell and the school had to be closed.  Some of the staff made the difficult journey into work and started to clear the snow.

Thursday

School was able to open but there was still much snow on the ground.  Thanks mainly to the hard work by Joe, our caretaker, and a little help from staff, the main playground is cleared of snow and the children were allowed to go outside at break times.

Friday

Things start to return to normal.
