Matters Arising:

Water availability. Jenny Moss reported that the water point has been plumbed in already in the new building but she understood that this was going to be paid for by the authority. She has now been told that this is not the case and will need to arrange for this to be done.

Quiz Evening. Jenny to ask Tracey Towler for further details.

Summer Fayre. The date of this has now had to be changed as there will be a special gardening event on at Cannington. The year 10 children are making a display garden and the event is sponsored by B & Q, Sanders and Blagdon Water Gardens. Wendy Vincent and Tracey Towler will be going down there with the children and the public are invited. The new date for the Summer Fayre is now the 23rd June.

Easter Egg Hunt. There was a large donation of eggs from Star Radio for which a letter of thanks will be going out soon. The children really enjoyed their afternoon treasure hunt.

Nessy Programme. This was installed and running. The children in ks2/3 really enjoy using it.

Treasure’s Report:

Bernie Richardson reported that the balance in the bank is £24304.76 at the present time. Approximately £5000 of this is for the PTA. Bernie said that he has not had the time to transfer the money over into a higher interest account.

Jenny explained that she has received notification that two Inspectors of Schools will be visiting Westhaven next week, regarding the bid.

Summer Fayre:

Raffle – Sheena will come in to do the raffle on 4th June. Sheena will also contact the Police, Fire Brigade and Coastguard.

Sheena has received a voucher for £30 from Tesco. It was agreed that this would be spent on a hamper on a summer theme. £50 voucher has been received from Sidcot, this to go in the silent auction. Wilkinsons have donated £50, Sheena to buy prizes for the raffle with this.

Sheena will contact Lucy’s mum who will probably run her jam and strawberry stall.

It was suggested that we have a fancy dress competition and penalty shoot out competition. New games to be purchased, ball game and hoop la game. Crawl nets could be used for an assault course if weather good.

The fayre to be from 11 until 2 p.m.

 Any other business:

Carole Wistow announced that Wendy Vincent would be selling plants at £1 for 6.

Phil Doe was taking part in a Bikeathon in June, Jenny will write to parents asking for sponsors.

Mrs Griffiths has asked for a contribution of £37.50 for a visit by KS2 to Animal Farm as part of the Young Enterprise project. This was agreed.

Carole asked for a donation of £500 towards the year 9 trip to France.

Everyone agreed that it was good for the children to go out as much as possible.

The meeting closed at 6.35.

Next meeting 7th June at 5.30.
