Minutes of the Friends of Westhaven P.T.A. Committee Meeting held on 23^rd October 2008

Present: T Woodward, S Woodward, T Gardner. R Jeffrey, S Jeffrey, F Baker, C Wistow, K Bradford, B Richardson, B Norse, P Doe, N Pagon, B Pagon, A Nicklen, D Nicklen

Minutes of the Last Meeting: 

Minutes read, proposed by P Doe and seconded by C Wistow.

Matters Arising:

B Richardson reported furniture had been ordered and was now in the new Business building.

Mrs Wistow said the trip to France had been very successful. All the children had enjoyed themselves and had worked together looking after each other and helping carry cases etc.

F Baker reported that the mixer had been bought at a cost of £129.95 and Mrs White had already used it with the children. Mrs White had sent her thanks to the Committee. 

It was reported that there was no news yet on the reading programme.

B Richardson reported that the ice creams on the school trip to the zoo had cost £80.

S Jeffrey had been unable to purchase the Darts Game.

Treasurer’s Report:

B Richardson reported that the PTA balance is £9134.61.

Any other business:

Christmas Fayre:

Carole Wistow said there would be bottle and tin weeks. Letters to go home to parents.

Sheena Jeffrey to come into school to do the raffle tickets as in previous years.

Carole said that lots of help was needed to man the stalls.

Elaine Parker asked for money for Crackers for the Christmas Lunch. The committee agreed on £50.

Bernie explained that, as in previous years,  there would be a Christmas games for KS3/4 and activity for KS2, money was agreed for these activities.
