Friends of Westhaven Parent Teacher Association

	Who are we - what do we do? The Friends of Westhaven PTA is a group of interested parents (past and present!) and staff who are willing to give a little of their time to support Westhaven school. You are always welcome to just come along to the meetings, which are every month or so, depending on the time of year. You can also volunteer to help with the many fund-raising events - a good way to meet other parents and staff on a more informal basis. Come and join us - you'll enjoy it! A big thank you! Message from Mrs Baker Once again Westhaven has had a very successful summer fayre. Although the weather was changeable, there were showers throughout the day, nevertheless we were well supported by parents, children, friends and neighbours of Westhaven who helped us raise over £1100 for the PTA. This money is spent on trips, books and various items for the classrooms. In the last year we have bought a food mixer for the HE room, books for the library, food for the disco and helped with the Christmas games, the year 9 trip to France and the Easter egg hunt. Also televisions for the Chill Out Club and KS2 classroom. We could not have raised this money without the generous contributions from everyone who comes to our fayres and so a big THANK YOU to all of you and also a big thank you to those parents and friends who man the stalls. We could not run the event without our volunteers. The PTA and Friends of Westhaven is open to all our parents/carers etc. so if you would like to join the committee which meets three or four times a year please feel free to contact the school for further information. We are a friendly and supportive group made up of staff, former and present parents. Thank you all once again and please note the next meeting will be on October 22nd at 6pm, (this will be the AGM). I am sure we will be discussing, among other things, the Christmas Fayre. I hope you will put this date in your diary. Frances Baker			Dates for your diary......
