Morning traffic arrangements

Since September 2009 we have been piloting a new system for vehicles.

Between 8.20am and 8.45am no vehicles, apart from staff and essential car users, are allowed on to the school site.

All pupils are to be dropped off outside the school gates where a member of staff will be to ensure their safe passage into school.

This is part of our Travel Plan to ensure the safety of pupils and to ease congestion at the beginning of the school day.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation with this.

Message from our Health Care Assistant

Just a reminder of the Cancer Research Sun SMART code now that summer seems to have arrived:

Stay in the shade 11 - 3

Make sure you never burn

Always cover up with a shirt, hat and sunglasses

Remember that young people burn more easily

Then use at least Factor 15+ sunscreen

Please can you send in a named sun hat for your child to use during break times and outdoor lessons.

A once-a-day sun cream product, that can be applied before coming to school, is preferred.

Thank you

Louise Willis

Health Care Assistant

New requirements for administering medication

As you are probably aware Mrs Willis administers medication to pupils when it is provided in its named original container and parents have signed a request form.

From now on the following requirements apply to non-prescription medication:

1. Parents/carers will need to sign a medication form giving specific requirements for giving the medication, e.g. 1 Paracetamol to be given for headaches, etc.

2. Parents/carers will need to provide the medication for their child  -  school is now unable to hold a stock of medication  -  it must be provided in a container with the child's name on.

Summer Fayre a real success

Thanks to all of you for supporting or helping with the Summer Fayre on Saturday.  As well as everyone having a great time we raised more than £1400 for the school fund, plus plant sales of nearly £500.
