WeSMile

September 2007 - July 2008 - Year 10's business 'WeSMile' will run until July 2008 as part of the Team Programme of the Young Enterprise scheme.

 

Tony Smith is our Business Advisor who makes sure everything is done properly.

WeSMile has focused on two main products,  recipe books and tile clocks.

  

Curriculum development

July 2008 - Striving to continually develop and enrich our already successful curriculum the pupils were asked for their ideas about what they would like to do.   There were lots of interesting and exciting suggestions and much staff time has been invested in putting together new programmes.

So, starting from September 2008 the pupils will be able to choose from a wide range of new one-term programmes for their Friday afternoon activities.

 

 

  

Building developments

June 2008 - Work started on the new Environmental Studies glasshouse.

 

November 2007 - New uPVC windows were fitted to the ICT suite, Art room, Year 7 classroom and DT workshop.  As well as looking good, the double glazing will make our school much more energy efficient.

 

Summer holidays 2007 - Our Key Stage 4 building has been replaced completely by a new building which should be badger proof!  Also Year 7's classroom and the Art room were totally refurbished with new ceilings and built-in cupboards.

In all, including the three classrooms in the new building, we have seven new and two completely refurbished teaching    areas which offer greatly enhanced learning environments for all our pupils.

The new Environmental Science and Horticulture block was built at the front of the school and a large glasshouse some 18 metres by 9 metres will soon be erected beside this block, as part of our specialist status funding.

Easter 2007 - The new building of 3 classrooms (including a science room) was completed.
