Wednesday

We spent the morning in Boulogne with a visit to the market and then the Cathedral. We then went on to Old Town where we saw the garden they were creating in the town square.

As you will see from the pictures it is a very unusual garden indeed! Lunch was a picnic on the Castle walls where the children were able to run around and play football.

After lunch we headed back to the hostel to collect the coach and our driver, Andy, who took us to Azincourt, the place where the battle of Agincourt took place.  This battle took place in 1415, 500 years before the Battle of the Somme.

In the visitor’s centre we were able to learn about the battle and also watched a presentation.

In the evening after dinner we took the bus to the beach where the children were able to play. Again the weather was very good and the evening was quite warm.
