Hat for Haiti day

On Friday 29th January pupils and staff were invited to wear a hat for the day, and to make a donation (£1 each suggested) to go towards the Haiti disaster relief fund.

Our snow story

For two weeks snow disrupted school life.  Everyone made the most of this rare event - snow in Weston-super-Mare!  At the same time we carried on with our learning as much as we could.  Click below to read more.

Morning traffic arrangements

Since the beginning of term 1 we have been piloting a new system for vehicles.

Between 8.20am and 8.45am no vehicles, apart from staff and essential car users, are allowed on to the school site.

All pupils are to be dropped off outside the school gates where a member of staff will be to ensure their safe passage into school.

This is part of our Travel Plan to ensure the safety of pupils and to ease congestion at the beginning of the school day.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation with this.

Fantastic results for Westhaven!

We have just received the results for our last group of year 11 pupils from the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and once again they are outstanding!

Year 11 Work Experience

In November year 11 completed their second two-week work experience.  All the students did well, two of them achieving a Distinction Star.

After school clubs

Due to the popularity of after school clubs last year, there are now five running:

(all below are 3pm to 4pm - parents/carers to make own arrangements to pick up at 4pm)

Monday - Gardening (sorry - no places left)

Tuesday - Dance (with Mrs Jory)

         Football (with Bristol City coaches)

         Photography GCSE (with Mrs Cantello) - 3 - 4.30pm year 10 only

         Table tennis (local league coaches)

Wednesday - Pool (with Mr Orr)

          Table tennis (local league coaches)

If pupils would like to attend then see staff named above. There is no charge for attending any of the clubs.
