Visit from a chef!
As part of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution day on Friday 15th, which is a global campaign to put compulsory practical food education on the school curriculum, Miss Constable, Teacher of Food Technology, invited Chef Simon Gray to Westhaven School to teach the students some brand new cooking skills.
The Year 8s and Year 10s got a master class lesson in how to joint and portion a whole chicken and then really put their skills to the test by making their own dish of spinach and ricotta stuffed chicken breast, accompanied by homemade ratatouille. They presented their dish to restaurant standard before getting to eat their creations for lunch! The pupils demonstrated some excellent skills and really impressed Chef Simon!
